During the ceremony, officials expressed their gratitude to Colonel Milet Grujičić for his professionalism, dedication and contribution throughout his tenure as Serbia’s Defence Attaché in the UK. His work was recognized for fostering cooperation and maintaining strong communication between the defence institutions of the two countries.
The event also welcomed Captain (Frigate Captain) Goran Radić, who officially assumes the role of Serbia’s new Defence Attaché in the United Kingdom. Participants wished him a successful mandate as he begins representing the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence in London.
Defence attachés play an important role in modern diplomacy, serving as military representatives at embassies and acting as key channels for cooperation in areas such as defence policy, military education, security dialogue and joint activities. Their work also contributes to building trust, facilitating communication between armed forces and supporting broader bilateral relations.
The transition in London reflects the regular rotation of Serbia’s diplomatic and military representatives abroad while ensuring continuity in defence cooperation with one of Europe’s leading security partners. Although Serbia maintains a policy of military neutrality, it continues to develop defence relations with a wide range of international partners, including the United Kingdom, through dialogue, professional exchanges and cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
