Montenegro Sees Net FDI Inflow of €530 Million in 2025

Preliminary data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) show that foreign direct investments (FDI) into the country reached €1.02 billion last year, while €487.35 million left the country.

This resulted in a net FDI inflow of €530.66 million, up 8.04% compared to 2024. Total FDI inflows grew 14.24% year-on-year. Outflows included €136.44 million from Montenegrin residents investing abroad and €350.91 million withdrawn by non-residents from investments in Montenegro.

Most FDI came as equity investments, totaling €629.2 million (61.81% of the total), with €497.4 million in real estate and €131.8 million in businesses and banks. Intercompany debt contributed €319.19 million, an increase of 9.26% over 2024, while the remaining 6.84% came from other investments, including withdrawals of foreign funds.
